Industry survey: Energy2market remains the leader in biomass direct marketing

  • Leading role in direct marketing of biomass confirmed once again
  • Almost a third of all biogas plants in Germany are marketed by e2m.
  • Leading player in the marketing of storage capacity: growth to continue

The leading role of Energy2market GmbH (e2m) in biomass direct marketing is once again confirmed in current direct marketing surveys conducted by a number of trade magazines (including E&M, energate-Messenger, ZfK) for 2022 as a whole. It also sees e2m as a leading player in the marketing of storage capacity. In its major industry ranking, E&M magazine confirms that the Leipzig-based energy trader was “once again the largest direct marketing company in the biogas sector” last year.

With 1,906 MW of installed biogas capacity alone, e2m has once again defended its market leadership in this segment. Almost a third of all biogas plants in Germany are marketed by e2m. The total portfolio of e2m amounts to 2,880 MW (as of December 31, 2022) in the renewable energy sector – wind power with 395 MW and photovoltaics with 376 MW also contribute to this. Energy2market has been ahead in the biomass segment since 2013, the first E&M direct marketing survey.

In addition, e2m is one of two companies that markets more than 100 MW of battery storage capacity (104 MW). In its portfolio, e2m has been recording growth in battery storage for some time.

This development is set to continue: In past innovation tenders, e2m was able to convince operators of a combination of solar system and battery storage with an intelligent overall solution consisting of long-term and flexibility marketing, especially with regard to storage.

About the e2m:

Making electricity generation and consumption more flexible is essential for the success of the energy transition in order to ensure the stability of the electricity system and thus the security of supply.

The e2m makes a decisive contribution to this: the energy aggregator opens up the flexibility of decentralized generation and consumption systems and paves the way for them to enter the market. As a pioneer and market leader in the marketing and optimization of biogas plants and battery storage systems, the energy trading company proves this every day.

e2m has all the relevant trading access points to bundle, control and integrate decentralized technologies into the electricity market using its virtual power plant – renewable energy plants as well as combined heat and power plants or large industrial consumers. With its multi-market approach and using its own state-of-the-art analysis software, the energy service provider ensures the best possible placement and marketing of the flexibility provided on the generator and consumer side. As a result, e2m is already living the energy market of the future today.

As the largest direct marketing company for energy and the largest pool provider for balancing energy, the company works in a results-oriented, transparent manner and on an equal footing with customers and partners. With the help of its innovative applications, e2m ensures the integration of its customers into the energy market. The energy trading company sets standards in the design of decentralized and renewable energy systems, and not only in Germany. Its own virtual power plant is already in use in several countries and is being continuously developed in order to drive forward the switch to renewable energies worldwide.
