Battery storage systems make fluctuating solar power available when it is needed. More and more PV plant operators are realizing that storage systems are a good way to optimize the marketing of solar power and increase yields.
Storage provides flexibility
Another valuable marketing option is the flexibility of storage. The electricity can be fed into the grid at times of high market prices. Short-term and flexibility marketing provides reliable optimization revenues, which are remunerated via a profit share (also in combination with a floor price) or at a fixed price.
Redispatch 2.0
Plant operators with an installed capacity of 100 kW or more are obliged to adjust their planned electricity production in the event of grid bottlenecks. This also applies to remotely controllable systems below 100 kW. The implementation of Redispatch 2.0 poses major challenges for many operators and requires considerable investment in digital infrastructure.
