We maximize the value of electricity from renewable energy sources for our customers and partners by offering flexible, sustainable, and service-oriented solutions.
We bundle and control 4,700 decentralized systems via our virtual power plant and network them with the electricity trading markets. This enables small and large producers, utilities, industrial customers and investors to market their renewable energy systems and battery storage systems economically.

2023
At E-world 2023, the companies Speira GmbH, EDF Renewables, and e2m present a groundbreaking solution for marketing flexibility in the industrial sector.
2022
Ørsted Windpark Borkum Riffgrund 1 is the first offshore wind farm whose electricity is fed into the grid as balancing energy to stabilize the system.
2021
e2m, EDF ENR & EDF Store & Forecast establish the joint venture Energiewende & Neue Ressourcen.
2020
Together with Deutsche Post AG, e2m presents opportunities for optimizing electricity procurement and energy use at logistics sites with electric vehicles.
2019
In mid-year, e2m becomes a 100% subsidiary of EDF SA, Paris. The OptimusFlex optimization service for biogas plants is launched.
2018
Development cooperation with BMW Group to conceptualize and market a battery storage farm at the BMW plant in Leipzig.

The company’s first-time certification, DIN ISO 9001and 27001, ensures highly available, fail-safe and automated 24/7 energy trading and uninterrupted operation. As a critical infrastructure, E2m is also subject to the strict security requirements of the BSI and secure data exchange in the context of market coupling (EDIFACT).

Start of EEG direct marketing, establishment of a self-developed Virtual Power Plant, and access to the balancing energy market.

Shaping the energy transition together
