Three questions on battery marketing
to Dr. Christof Petrick

How does e2m ensure maximum yields for battery storage?

At e2m, we rely on comprehensive multimarket optimization to achieve maximum returns from battery storage. With the help of our virtual power plant and our specially developed optimization, we market flexibility on all relevant trading venues – including the day-ahead and intraday markets as well as primary and Frequency restoration reserves (PRL and aFRR).

Our algorithms react to price fluctuations in real time and exploit them in a targeted manner to achieve the best possible yield. In the PRL area, you also benefit from lucrative balancing energy positions. InFRR, battery customers benefit from our cross-technologyFRR pools. We combine fast battery storage with long-lasting power-to-heat, offshore wind or biogas plants.

“Our cross-technology flexibility symbiosis enables significantly higher yields than any individual technology could generate on its own.”

We offer full transparency – down to the smallest trade – and are convinced that we can guarantee optimal marketing for the storage facility.

How does e2m ensure gentle driving and long-term battery storage?

Our almost ten years of experience in storage marketing have shown us how crucial careful use is for the longevity of your storage system. That is why we take all relevant technical and operational parameters of your battery storage into account in our models – from the number of cycles and storage levels to dwell times, gradients and charging and discharging depths.

“We only use battery storage when it makes economic sense.”

Through our asset-backed trading, we trade up to ten times the actual delivery volume. We only use battery storage when it makes economic sense. In this way, we guarantee maximum revenue with minimum wear and tear.

We also offer transparent reporting so that you can keep an eye on the status and performance of your storage at all times.

What is the long-term economic outlook for my battery storage system with e2m?

We have been successfully marketing battery storage systems in Germany since 2016. Our goal is a long-term, trusting partnership. To this end, we offer you attractive products and conditions – all from a single source with full transparency.

“Our goal is a long-term, trusting partnership.”

We are convinced that we will continue to be able to market flexibility optimally on all trading venues in the future. This is why we can offer you attractive floor prices with a term of up to ten years. As part of the EDF Group, you benefit from our excellent credit rating, which gives you additional planning security.

Ultimately, we are a highly motivated team full of expertise and experience. We are actively driving forward the energy transition by ensuring the long-term profitability of our customers. We are convinced that we will continue to master all challenges in the future in order to make the energy transition a success.

BESS Co-Location Index published by BET Consulting & e2m

BET Consulting GmbH (BET) and Energy2market GmbH (e2m) present the BESS Co-Location Index, a new, freely accessible market index that transparently quantifies the daily added value that battery storage systems can achieve when operated together with photovoltaic systems. BESS co-location – the combination of PV system and battery storage at one location – is considered to be one of the most important trends for 2026 and 2027.

More revenue with full security of supply: e2m and VK Energie combine their strengths

The energy transition poses enormous challenges for plant operators: volatile energy markets, increasing regulatory requirements and the complexity of hybrid structures consisting of electricity, heat and storage. Heat-led plants in particular are caught between security of supply and economic efficiency. Only those who intelligently combine technical optimization and access to all relevant energy markets will be successful.
