Hybrid Storage in Central Germany
Green Energy 3000 is an international project developer for PV and wind power plants based in Leipzig. The Großschirma I project is its first project to combine a solar farm with a battery storage system. The company is already planning additional PV parks that follow a similar model and will also help promote public acceptance of battery storage.
EDF Trading provides the long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the electricity generated by the solar power plant. e2m handles the short-term marketing and optimization of the plants’ flexibility on the electricity markets, which integrates the plants into its virtual power plant for this purpose.
e2m offers operators a fixed payment for the flexibility they provide for the entire 10-year contract term(Flexibility Purchase Agreement). The financing commitment from DAL, which has extensive experience in PPA-based renewable energy project financing (Deutsche Anlagen Leasing), which has extensive experience in PPA-based renewable energy project financing, demonstrates that the product is particularly compelling in terms of long-term revenue stability.
"We are proud to be at the forefront of innovations and sustainable solutions for the transformation of the energy supply (…) once again to be at the forefront. The PPA with EDF Trading and e2m for the photovoltaic plant combined with battery storage is an important milmilestone that, thanks to the constructive work of all partners involved, will serve as a model for further projects of this kind.”
